EU funded DEEDS inspired research project developing resource ‘pods’ for promoting sustainability in design education. Choose and/or comment upon content which can contribute to ecological teaching material, for schools or universities. Content will be shown live at the 100% Sustainable show (360 degrees conference at Brighton University).

We live on a delicate planet with finite resources, but our global material and energy needs expanding fast, and our economy is based upon growth. You do not need to be a genius to spot the contradiction! Be part of the solution, not part of the problem. Help to identify examples of best and worst practice. Put positive pressure on designers and industry!

We live simultaneously in two interconnected worlds, one ‘real’ and physical, the other ‘virtual’ and informational. Networks between these worlds, and between the local and the global, are changing fast, creating new social scenarios. What kinds of technologies, interactions and objects can enrich our lives? How do we want to interact?

Companies and organisations of all sizes, need tools to develop ideas, and to facilitate communications and innovation, to meet the demands of the twenty first century environment. Open Tables is itself a new kind of meeting and working space, aimed at meeting these needs. How can Open Tables be improved? What other kinds of collaborative tools and technologies are out there? What do you need?

Theme for this years project by Atelier6 Students of Architecture at University of Greenwich working with this site situated on the edge of the City of London and the East End boroughs of Hackney and Tower Hamlets.
